1.1. Where is Chieu Lau Thi?
Chieu Lau Thi Mountain is situated in the Ha Giang province's Ho Thau commune, Hoang Su Phi district. At roughly 2,402 meters above sea level, it is regarded as one of the Northeast's two highest summits. This mountain's name has a special meaning: "Chieu Lau Thi" means "Nine-story ladder", "Chieu Lau" refers to nine steps, and "Thi" denotes a big, tall rock.

Only about 40km from Panhou, choosing a car or motorbike will bring visitors very different interesting experiences when traveling to Chieu Lau Thi. With a car, you will have about 2 to 2.5 hours to relax, enjoy the beautiful scenery from the glass window, admire the immense terraced fields and the pretty little villages nestled in the misty mist.

3.1. Choosing the right time
To have a successful cloud hunting trip at Chieu Lau Thi, choosing the right time is the most important factor. Before setting off, check the weather forecast to avoid days of heavy rain or heavy fog. If you can't go early in the morning, late afternoon is also a great time to admire the sunset, but don't forget to calculate the time to descend the mountain before dark to ensure safety.
As with any mountain climbing trip, carefully preparing clothing and support equipment is extremely necessary. Chieu Lau Thi is located at an altitude of more than 2,400m, so the weather at the top is often chilly, especially in the early morning or late afternoon.
Remember to bring warm clothes, hats, scarves and gloves to keep your body warm. At the same time, preparing sports shoes or climbing shoes with good grip is an important factor to help you move safely on mountainous terrain.
Although the journey to the top is not too long, the thinner air as you go up may make it a bit difficult for you to move.
